BEPS COVID-19 Update
At this moment, schools have been informed that we are at the Red level.
We have planned carefully to ensure that we are meeting the health, safety and wellbeing requirements that we need to.
Our plan for the 2020-2021 school year will be guided by the following principles:
- Protect the health and safety of our students and staff
- Follow the guidelines set out by the Belgian authorities for schools
- Offer the highest quality educational experiences for our students and their families
- Support social-emotional wellness for all members of our community
- Provide clear, frequent, and timely communication
- Continue to follow best practices and use the most up-to-date data / information available when making decisions especially around health & safety
COVID-19 compliance, travelling and testing
The Belgian authorities regularly update their advice to citizens moving in and out of the country. All BEPS employees, parents and students are required to follow the health and travel advice and restrictions published by the Belgian Foreign Affairs Ministry.
From 1st August, all persons entering Belgium must complete an identification form (Passenger Locator Form). You can find this form here.
If your child is returning from a country or region designated as a Red Zone, testing and a mandatory period of quarantine are required. Students and teachers who are required to quarantine should provide a Quarantine certificate from their doctor stating when they can return to school.
Similarly, if your child is returning from an Orange Zone, you should contact your family doctor to check if testing and a period of quarantine is recommended. However, all parents are strongly encouraged to be extra vigilant and not send their children to school if any symptoms occur.
