Discovering BEPS secondary
Last week, Year 6 students had the chance to visit the BEPS Secondary School. The Year 7 and Year 8 students had prepared some activities following the theme of Year 6 IPC Unit of Rivers and presented a full morning of activities on a variety of scientific and socio-political topics related to rivers.
The older students touched on topics such as kinetic energy, hydroelectric power, deforestation and the wider significance of rivers. They stretched their own learning by considering how to ask factual, conceptual and debatable questions in creative and memorable ways.
Year 6 students had also the chance to tour the Secondary School and ask their hosts questions about the experience of making the transition into becoming a Secondary School student.
