It just isn’t Halloween without the BEPS Halloween Party

Organised by the BEPS Parent Teacher Association and the countless teachers and parents volunteers, the Halloween Party is an event championed by the whole community. Year after year, it brings back many of our students, sometimes even from abroad.

Planning and hosting a big event is not easy, but the BEPS Halloween party shows it is worth it. Each year it brings our community together in a way you wouldn’t believe is possible.

Organised by the BEPS Parent Teacher Association and the countless teachers and parents volunteers, the Halloween Party is an event championed by the whole community. Planning starts in September and is driven by regular meetings where parents, teachers and the school leadership brainstorm together. An important factor in the event’s success is its spirit of innovation and luckily new parents bring fresh ideas.

The preparations we can actually see begin a few days before the big day. Pumpkins arrive, tents are erected and excitement grows. When the decorating begins the children lose track of everything else, and the day before the party is full of questions and talk of costumes. Deliveries and the finishing touches happen on Saturday morning, and then it’s time for the big event.

Unfortunately, last year we couldn’t organise community events, and so the party didn’t take place. However, optimistically we started this school year and hoped that the health and safety regulations would allow us to be together and celebrate our traditions once again.

Our wish came true. Last Saturday over 300 children, parents, teachers and alumni were able to be together again and enjoy that well known atmosphere, and all that the party brings with it. The costume creativity surprises us every year, and the success of the Costume Parade proves this.

We are very grateful to the BEPS PTA for organising yet another fabulous Halloween Party. Year after year, it brings back many of our students, sometimes even from abroad. And the reason for this? As one of these returning families explained “It just isn’t Halloween without the BEPS Halloween Party.”
