Learning from the artist Gabriel Kuri

Our Secondary School students visited the Wiels in Brussels, where they had the opportunity to meet the famous artist Gabriel Kuri at his exhibition ”sorted, resorted’. They discovered a series of impressive installations and sculptures as playful as ironic, commenting on social, political and economical matters. Students investigated the exhibition in order to practise global mindedness and were challenged to understand more about conceptual art.

They followed Mr Kuri through the display and found themselves reflecting on what they saw, inquiring upon the reasons for choosing materials, forms, and space (none were by chance) and thinking about the meaning in the work.
It was a privilege to share the moment with the artist himself, having the opportunity to ask him questions about his process and his everyday work in the studio.
