BEPS International School aligns space with learning
The autumn of 2022 promises to be a turning point for BEPS International School. The Secondary School students will move into a new building. We have acquired the property adjoining the primary school and we are excited to be uniting the entire school.
Before we can make the move, though, we need to carry out major renovations to adapt the building to fit the type of learning we want to provide. The building itself has a distinctive historic façade that will be preserved, whilst the internal classrooms will be designed specifically to allow our focussed approach to learning.
Our Interior Design partner is ID4Care.
Our building should reflect our approach to learning. We want our students to be engaged in authentic learning that is meaningful because it reflects the way they experience the world. Therefore our new spaces will help our students to transition between school and the working world that will involve a similar atmosphere.
The new BEPS Secondary School
Collaborative space for small groups of students
Within our open floor plan, students will find collaborative spaces to meet in small groups.
Individual learning spaces
The space will be reinvented to have more open locations. However, we will create areas within the space to provide “quiet” corners where students can focus.
Maker space
To provide authentic learning we will have specialised rooms. This “Maker Space” will provide resources that will enable our students to bring their designs to life.
Flexible space: collaborative
We are looking for a shift towards a more dynamic learning environment. Walls which separate traditional classrooms will be broken down.
Lounge & dining space
In this area, the students will have a cosy space where they will be able to enjoy their lunch as well as collaborate with their peers.
Science Lab
Our purpose-built Science Lab equipped with modern infrastructure will provide an open environment for students to investigate and complete research work, to collaborate in exploring the world of Science asking questions that can be answered through practical investigation.
