ICT Coordinator

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Coordinator is accountable to the Direction of the School and directly reports to the Finance & Administration Director.

The ICT coordinator is responsible for ensuring technology enables and enhances the organisation’s strategic objectives and facilitates all users achieving their operational priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The main duties of the ICT Coordinator are:

  • Direct and manage all ICT-related tasks throughout the organization:
    • Provide direction and assistance on the introduction of new processes, acquisition of new systems and development of infrastructure
    • Ensure the effective functioning of all IT systems (internal and external, infrastructure and applications)
    • Install and configure software, trouble shoot IT problems and support and develop colleagues
    • Support and train staff to use information systems, equipment, and software accurately and efficiently
    • Oversight of the IT budget and equipment schedule with the Finance & Administration Director. Includes review, advice and purchase of new software and hardware
  • Act as Data Protection Officer (DPO):
  • Supervise the implementation of a data protection strategy, assuring compliance with GDPR and other applicable data protection laws
  • Oversees the data privacy and data protection policies and makes sure the process of personal data of data subjects (students, parents, employees, and other individuals) is done in a compliant way
  • Operate independently, with full support from the Direction of the School and the Board
  • Have access to all needed resources to act as DPO according to best practices
  • Ensure continuity of Systems
  • To work alongside outsourced IT support partners to maintain efficient, high availability ICT infrastructure, includes building and maintaining physical and virtualised servers both on-premises and off-premises, all communication processes between servers, managing firewalls and networking points, and maintaining Domain Controllers.
  • Ensure the smooth functioning of applications and databases
  • Maintain, analyse and develop telephony systems across the organization
  • Where appropriate, to build and replace hardware parts and machines throughout the organization and install and configure hardware and software
  • Maintain and develop ICT policies, procedures, reference guides and materials
  • Provide overall administrative support
  • Identify, develop and support new technology solutions for staff, children and students and to support the overall educational requirements of the school
  • Provide reports to the Direction of the School as required

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience providing information communications technology (ICT) and administrative support in a development context
  • Bachelor’s in information technology or a relevant field required
  • Fluency in English and advanced level of French or Dutch
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Experience working in education is a plus
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
